Howdy

I've been very lax in my blogging-ness. For that, I apologize. February has been a very busy month which was unexpected. I'm disheartened with how most of my posts have become videos and I have very little true Lord Spathington content available for you. I promise this will be rectified soon. I hope to write more on comics and comic related happenings as well as revamp my movie reviews. I want to be here for my people (10 and counting).

Please stand by.

G'Nort

I recently picked up the G'Nort action figured featured in the first wave of the Justice League International toyline. I've toned down my action figure collecting considerably, but still pick up figures depicting members of the Green Lantern Corps. After several versions of Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner, it's nice to see a character featured who is not from Earth. You can read a little about G'Nort below (courtesy of DC's wiki page).

G'Nort (along with his uncle G'newman) initially received his power ring from Poglachians, who were posing as the Guardians of the Universe while the real Guardians were with the Zamarons. This was part of a Paglachian/Weaponers of Qward plot to arm incompetents with Green Lantern power rings; the Paglachians wanted to cause amusing chaos, while the Weaponeers wanted to discredit the Green Lantern Corps. Despite the initial origin of his ring, after the plot was uncovered, Guy Gardner, against his better judgment, nominated G'nort for genuine Corps membership.

G'nort often pestered the Justice League let him join (or at least help with the latest threat to Earth) or battled wholly unintimidating "threats" to peace and order. In one effort to help the Justice League, he encountered what would become his arch-enemy, the (equally incompetent) Scarlet Skier. He later befriended the Scarlet Skier and even brought the Scarlet Skier along when the Maxwell Lord founded Justice League Antarctica in an effort to get both G'Nort and the unwillingly-heroic Injustice League out of his way.

He also joined many other former Green Lanterns in joining the Darkstars. He was unsuccessfully ransomed off by Manga Khan to Maxwell Lord in exchange for L-Ron. G'nort was last seen as the sole member of Super Buddies Antarctica.
